Manufacturing Supervisor - Machining

Job Purpose:
Provide supervisory leadership, efficient management and creative problem-solving in department related plant operations.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
oCoordinate and provide technical, quality and production leadership to assigned team to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals oProvide ongoing support in scheduling resources, technical leadership and facilitating the flow of hardware to meet customer requirementsoSupport Team Leaders with decision making in areas of process improvement and/or production to make appropriate resource decisions (manpower, machines, methods) to facilitate the flow of hardware through the manufacturing processoSupport process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns and reduce manufacturing losses oDirect the activities of an hourly team within the department and participate in department activities to meet identified goals oPerform administrative duties to support the business, including timecards, labor vouchers, self-audits, absence reviews, missing time corrections, etc.
oCoordinate all first line activities (i.
e.
, Methods, Production Control) to assure the meeting of production schedules and customer satisfaction, cost goals, and maintaining the highest standards of quality oCoach and counsel team members regarding individual performance and development needs oPractice sound human relations and communications skills to motivate the work forceoReview production orders and ensure production schedules are being met oAnalyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and takes corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules oAchieve highest safety levels in the plant oExperience with implementing lean manufacturing improvementsoEmploy Six Sigma rigors to all functions within the department oMentor and motivate team in safety, quality, and productivity improvementsoOther duties as assignedKnowledge and Training:
oBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of prior supervisor / leadership experience in a manufacturing environmentoBachelor's degree in Business or Engineering preferred oPrior experience, in CNC Machining, Heat Treating, Grinding, Dimensional Inspection, Shipping and Receiving is preferredoPrior supervisory / leadership experience in a manufacturingoAbility to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and bring to successful completionoStrong team building / coaching skills oKnowledge of manufacturing operations and practicesoAbility to interact with all levels of the organizationoAbility to counsel and motivate team membersoStrong attention to detailoStrong verbal and written communication skillsoStrong negotiation skills and ability to lead by exampleoSix Sigma training is preferredoStrong propensity for excelling in a demanding environmentoMust be able to support a 24/7 operationAdditional Requirements:
oUS Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
