Switchboard Operator - Business Services

  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  • Discharge cashier for inpatient and observation patients. Talks to patients on discharge about their portion of the bill.
  • Receives, balances, and posts patient payments and non-patient cash received from other departments in a timely and accurate manner, using appropriate Business Office policy and procedure. Completes information to make daily bank deposits. Images copies of receipts and checks in daily batches.
  • Responsible for handling of outgoing hospital mail and correcting of return mail.
  • Interacts with patients, families, and visitors appropriately and professionally.
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Qualifications/Education/Training:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Accounting background helpful
    • Good mathematical skills required
    • Computer experience and excellent interpersonal skills also required

    Work Schedule:

    • Part-time, 40 hrs bi-weekly, to work 1st and 2nd shifts, and holidays/weekends as scheduled

    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
